Summary:
After a quick look at some fans in their 30’s who love buying junior idol stuff, we are shown a photo shoot Mai Sasaki’s father is doing for a 13-year-old idol Misuzu Ashida. The girl tells the reporter that she is hoping that she can become a mainstream star through her junior idol DVD’s. Her mother, who is at the photo shoot, has a similar view and thinks that what her daughter is doing is similar to how many actresses have done sexy photos or love scenes in movies to advance their careers. The mother and daughter say that there is a limit to what they’ll approve of, at which point they’ll supposedly say no. After the release of Misuzu’s DVD they travel to Tokyo to hold an photo shoot event to which all her fans were invited. The event, which was held in a little studio in Aoyama, failed to attract a single fan. Mr. Sasaki, who repeatedly said Misuzu had many fans, blamed the dismal turnout on the fact that the event had not been held in Akihabara or Ikebukuro.

For anonymity purposes, I guess. Also, I doubt most of the otaku in that video would want their faces exposed for fear that someone watching the report who might recognize one of them would probably go “(so-and-so)’s into underage gravure idols?! Ew!” or whatnot.
That type of doink is the kind of otaku that deserves to be looked down upon, IMO. Though there are more positive portrayals of other types of otaku in Japanese news reports recently (though they still tend to be the “Ha ha, otaku are crazy” type), the U-15 idol otaku will probably forever be looked upon as creepy doinks in the news, and I can’t blame them, really. キモすぎるよ。

Charming, the mother hopes for her daughter to succeed…not if the saying goes “If you want to see what girl will look like when shes older is by the mom” her mom looks fugly. They should all be arrested, and lose their children over it. No one came cos all the people who view these DVD etc. are closet freaks.

i’m not quite sure but i think i have read somewhere that chiaki kuriyama (played the creepy schoolgirl in kill-bill) was doing u-15 modeling when she was 12 or something.
